“The Connect” is a professional networking event aimed to uplift and connect young black professionals with each other and other well-established professionals of all career and cultural backgrounds. The purpose of this event is to create future opportunities, establish strong relationships, and reach back to those who would love to be in the same career in which you may already work.
With representatives from well-known organizations invited to attend, attendees will be able to connect with professionals from the following career fields:
- Accounting
- Marketing/Advertising/Sales
- Communications
- Education
- Fashion
- Law/Politics
- Entrepreneurship
- Engineering
- Healthcare/Nursing/Medicine
- Event Planning
- Music
- Human Resouces
- ...and the list goes on.
The Connection:
A speed networking session will be the icebreaker during the early part of the event. Young and established professionals will speak with someone he/she doesn’t know for 1:30 minutes, exchange business cards, and then move to the next person. This session will last approximately 30minutes; guaranteeing that each person will connect with at least 10 people. At the end of the session, all are encouraged to keep in contact.
After speed networking, everyone will continue to network and socialize. Be sure to put your business card in the "Connect Box" for your chance to win a gift bag with some great prizes.
Did I mention Walgreens is providing gift bags filled with cosmetics and gift cards for the first 50 people who arrive? Be there on time.
This is a FREE event! However, The Standard Bar & Grill is offering discounted wristbands at $15 for unlimited drinks, wine, and beer for the entire three hours! Please drink responsibly. A DJ will be spinning some of your favorite tunes so come and groove a little.
